REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius has delayed his visit to Indonesia as he will be attending a meeting in Belarus to discuss the conflict in Ukraine.
According to a press release from the French Embassy to Indonesia, Laurent has to accompany French President Francois Hollande who will attend the conference in Minsk, Belarus.
"Related to the European security condition, President Francois Hollande has asked Minister Fabius to accompany him to the Minsk Summit in Belarus, which is being held on Wednesday, Feb. 11," the French Embassy stated here on Tuesday.
However, the Embassy noted that Minister Laurent has not canceled his visit to Indonesia but instead has delayed it.
The embassy will soon inform about the visit schedule of Minister Laurent to Indonesia after coordinating with the Indonesian authority.
Previously, Foreign Minister Laurent was scheduled to visit Indonesia on February 10-11, 2015.
Minister Laurent was earlier scheduled to inaugurate the new office building of the French Embassy in Jalan Thamrin, Central Jakarta, and visit the Indonesian Foreign Affairs Ministry and the Maritime Coordinating Ministry.
