REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, KABUL -- At least three persons were killed while eight people, including a lawmaker, were wounded in a suicide bombing in the Afghan capital of Kabul on Sunday, an official source said.

"A suicide bomber struck the bomb-proof vehicle of Gul Pacha Majidi, a member of lower house of parliament, leaving three killed and eight others injured," a security source told Xinhua on condition of anonymity.

Among those killed were two passers-by. The attacker also died in the incident.

Majidi suffered minor wounds in the blast, which took place near his house in Shah Shahid, an area in southeastern Kabul at around 6:00 p.m. local time, the source said, adding the injured were shifted to a nearby hospital.

The blast also damaged cars and buildings around the scene.

No group has yet to claim responsibility for the attack. The Taliban insurgent group mostly claims responsibility for targeted attacks.

Nearly 3,700 civilians were killed and more than 6,800 others wounded in conflicts and Taliban-led attacks in 2014, according to official figures released by UN mission in the country.
