REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, LISBON -- A four-day strike over the Easter holidays staged by Portugal's national railway company CP, which ended Monday, caused the cancellation of around 92 percent of trains, Luis Bravo, president of a Portuguese railway workers' syndicate, told Xinhua.
The walkout, which began on Thursday, was due to the company not paying workers the holiday subsidies it owes them since 1996, Bravo told Xinhua.
According to CP, only around 18 out of 262 trains were running on Monday due to the strike.
CP has planned another strike to take place on April 16.
