The general visited the troops of the task force at UN Posn 7-1 in Adchid Al Qusayr, South Lebanon.

The visit was part of a series of trips that the TNI chief is scheduled to take to Lebanon so he can closely study the activities of the soldiers carrying out peacekeeping operations under the aegis of the UN in Lebanon, spokesman for Konga XXIII-I/UNIFIL Captain Ahmad Suberlian said in an emailed statement on Saturday.

Moeldoko's entourage included Assistant to the TNI Chief for Operations Major General Indra Hidayat R., Assistant to the TNI Chief for Intelligence Rear Admiral Amri Husaini, Chief of the TNI Information Service Major General M. Moreover, the commander of the task force, Lieutenant Colonel Andreas Nanang Dwi P., accompanied by his deputy Major Eko Handono and soldiers, greeted the TNI chief and his entourage upon their arrival at the Indonesian contingent's station at UN Posn 7-1 in Adchid Al Qusayr, South Lebanon.

They were also greeted by Commander of the East Sector Brigadier General Olmos Ruiz and Deputy Commander of the East Sector Colonel Kav Yatanabey.

Residents, including children, living around the area of operation of the Indonesian contingent waved Indonesian and Lebanese flags to greet the military chief and his entourage.

Addressing a get-together with soldiers of the task force, General Moeldoko expressed his appreciation to members of the task force and local residents both for their greeting. He was also impressed by the presence of social figures in South Lebanon during the greeting ceremony.

"I am impressed by the presence of social and religious figures who greeted me and my entourage. I hope our existing good relations and cooperation with the people of South Lebanon can be maintained well. I would like to thank all soldiers," he said.

Furthermore, the general urged the deployed TNI soldiers to always uphold the good name of the Indonesian nation. TNI soldiers, particularly members of the Garuda Contingent, should also preserve their solidity, regardless of where they are stationed as UN peacekeepers.
