REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Inter Milan President Erick Thohir hoped Indonesia League (ISL) can inspires from the success of European one in business and competition.
However, he explained, local competition such as ISL still relied on sponsor and ticket for income. This contrasts with European which relied more on broadcasting revenues.
Despite hoping for the better ISL, the businessman was reluctant to get involved directly in organizing the competition. For him ISL not his domain. Moreover, as chairman of the Indonesian Olympic Committee (KOI) he was too busy ahead of the upcoming 2018 Asian Games competition.
"The league is not my domain, but if my advice is requested, I am ready," Erick Thohir said in Jakarta, Monday (18/1) night.
