REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, BIAK -- The Biak Numfor district government is seeking cooperation with Taiwanese investors in the fisheries sector to establish a fish canning company in the area.

Regional Secretary of Biak Andreas Msen admitted that Taiwanese investors had visited Baik on June 1, 2016, to negotiate with the district government to set up a fish canning company.

"Taiwanese investors were interested in establishing a fish canning company similar to the fish canning plant of Biak Mina Jaya that was operated during the 1998-2000 period," Msen noted here on Thursday.

Msen said the government of Biak Numfor District was urged to prepare land to be used as the construction site of a fish canning plant in Biak Island.
