REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, BANDUNG – Quranic Generation (Q-Gen) revives the value of loving Alquran from Muslim youth. They held a talk show and discussion entitled ‘ Loving Quran’ in Masjid Islamic Dakwah Center (Pusdai) Bandung, West Java. M Azhari Nasution and Bachtiar Nasir delivered the tausiah -literally means "advice".
About 300 students and scholars were crowding the masjid (mosque -ed). Bachtiar said, it was the time of Muslim revival and the youth had strategic function in every sector of development in Indonesia. Thus, the youth must hold on to Quran. “Make Quran as our life guidance. Not only read it, but we also learn to memorize and practice it in the real life,” he said.
He is concerned about the fact that today many Muslim youth are not familiar with Quran not to mention its guidances of life. He said, the reason was because of the shifting of values in Indonesian Muslim society. Today he rarely sees the habitual of reading Alquran after Maghrib prayer.
While Nasution said, Muslim must contemplate the contents of Quran to build a special bond with God. “Allah promises success in world and afterlife if Muslim read and practice Quran,” he said.
Meyda Sefira, an actress from ‘Ketika Cinta Bertasbih’ movie, said, adolescence is the determinant of the future. She recalled when she was at school, saw a friend who used to go to the mosque during the daily break. She then found out that her friend prayed dhuha (morning prayer -ed). Her friend really inspired Sefira to follow her deed.
The Q-Gen Chief, Muhammad Fathoni, hopes, Q-Gen can answer questions about the existence of Muslim youth. With returning to the value of Quran, the Muslim youth can solve their problems.
