REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - Indonesian Ministry of Religious Affairs, through its institution that studies Quran, LPMA, publishes Braille Quran. The process of the making has been started since 2011 and expected to finish in 2013.
The Head of LPMA, Muhammad Shohib, said the ministry had issued a handbook of reading and writing Braille Quran in 2012. "In 2012, we compiled and published chapter 1-15. We will compile and publish chapter 16-30 in 2013," Shohib said on Tuesday as cited from kemenag.co.id.
He said that LPMA only issued the master. However, LPMA has not determined the publishing house. "We keep the master in Bayt Al-Qur'an," he said.
He hopes the effort will give broad advantage for those who need. The Braille Quran is compiled by a team that consists of experts and practitioners from Islamic blind foundation in Indonesia.
