Lampung to build International Qur'anic Open University

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, BANDAR LAMPUNG - Province of Lampung plans to build International Qur'anic Open University which based on information and technology. The main figure of Ma'had Al Fatah Lampung, Muhyiddin Hamidy said the open university would be named 'Abdullah bin Mas'ud Open University.'

"The progress of preparations, such as legal, regulatory and curriculum continued under the process and tackled by team comprise of Prof Arifien Bratawinata, Dr Tina Kartika, Wahyu Iwa Sumantri and Nurhabibi," Hamidy said on Tuesday. 

The committe also select 100 top proffesors from international universities in Palestine, the Middle East and Africa. Hamidy expected top proffesor would be teaching at Abdullah bin Mas'ud Open University. The open university would provide Qur'an learning materials for students online.

The lecturers came from best universities around the world, such as Ma'had Daar Al Quranul Karim Sunnah Gaza University of Palestine and Qur'an University of Sudan.
