Chief of police gives OK to headscarf

National Police Chief Gen. Timur Pradopo explains duriang a session with MPs in Jakarta on Tueday that police will implement new policy to allow policewomen to wear headscarves.

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - National Police Chief Gen. Timur Pradopo finally confirms that the police will permit policewomen to wear headscarves. 

"Thanks to the public for their overwhelming responses to our uniform. In the near future, we will allow the wearing of headscarves after our internat discussion," Pradopo said during a session in Parliament Complex in Senayan, Jakarta, on Tuesday.

Pradopo added he responded positively to female police officers who wanted to wear headscarves. He said that police would implement new policy regarding to the headscarves in police uniform.
