REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - A total of 160 thousand student in Padang, West Sumatra will follow Ramadhan Boarding School, start from July 13 to August 5, 2013. The event will be followed by students at Elementary School level up to Senior High School.
Head of Department of Social Welfare in Padang, Al Amin said Ramadhan Boarding School aimed for students to broaden their knowledge in Islam during the Muslim's holy month. This activity will last for 20 days and replace the formal session at school.
"Theme for this year is Akhlakul Karimah (Noble Attitudes) so the students are expected to have beter attitudes. Government of Padang City has prepared a budget of two billion IDR for this event," Al Amin said on Friday.
Ramadhan Boarding School will be held in mosques at 104 villages in Padang city. A total of 290 administrators of place of worship have been given training to become teachers to help schools.
Ramadhan Boarding School is an annual program of government of city or regency in West Sumatra. Since 2010, local governments have devised Learning Implementation Plan for all levels.
