Al-Azhar to graduate 36 Quran memorizers

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - Great Mosque of Al-Azhar will graduate 36 Quran memorizers at the night of 17th of Ramadan. Those 36th hafidz students are able to memorize the 30th section of Quran.

"All students in this program studied here free of charge. They previously have been following program of memorizing Quran for three months," Secretary of Committee of Ramadan and Eid at Al-Azhar Mosque, M Zainul Arifin said on Sunday.

Al-Azhar Mosque opened Quran memorization program this year. The inagural program was opened in April. There are four options opened, such as recitation 1st juz, 30th juz, whole juz and short verses. Students target to able to memorize juz in three months and whole juz in two years.

Since this program was opened three months ago, the number of people signed up reached 158. They usually gathered every Friday and Saturday. Most of these students were workers, 41 of them were students.
