REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - Association of Indonesian Youth Tionghoa (IPTI), Indonesian National Student Movement (GMNI) and students of Tarumanegara University held sahur on some streets in Jakarta. They distributed two thousand foods for sahur (pre dawn meal) for poor people, last weekend.
"This is part of our empathy for people who are marginalized by development and system in this city," Head of IPTI, Farouk Philip said in Jakarta.
Philip said IPTI whose members were young Indonesian Chinese descendants, had concern to those in need during this Ramadan. He hopes the youths can share happiness to people who were less fortunate.
