REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - Indonesian Ulamas Council (MUI) are thinking to develop new approach of teaching Islam to adjust with contemporary Indonesian Muslim. The topic was discussed in National Working Meeting of MUI 2013 in Jakarta this weekend.
Chief Executive of MUI Ma'ruf Amin said that MUI tasks was still on track in preaching and providing moral guidances.
"Approach (in teaching Islam) needs to be adjusted the dynamics of people," Amin said this weekend.
Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs, Nasarudin Umar said MUI had three program important priorities. They are reconsolidation of sub institutions within MUI, establishing center of preacher to educate new cadres of preachers, and economic empowerment through Islamic economic.
Currently, government has committed to improve economic sharia in Indonesia. MUI has established an incubation center and economic empowerment of people and development of Islamic economic.
