REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - The National Committee for the Palestinian People plans to deliver sacrificial animals to the Gaza Strip, Palestine, following the "Eid Adha" 1435 Hijr celebration day. The delivery of aid and assistance to Palestine is still difficult following Israeli aggression in the country.
"We will try to deliver the sacrificial animals using other means. If necessary, we will deliver the animals to Palestinian refugees located in Yarmouk, Syria, Amman, Jordan and Lebanon," the Director of the Foreign Program for the Committee, Ali Amril, said on Tuesday.
The donation by the committee is the second event, following the successful "Qurban for Palestine" held in 2012. Amril noted that Palestinian refugees in Lebanon suffer from a critical economic condition and will be a priority for receiving sacrificial animals.
"If aid cannot be distributed to the Gaza Strip, Insha Allah we will deliver the animals to Lebanon, Syria and Jordan," Amril said.
The Committee has collected 101 sacrificial animals, consisting of 100 lambs and a cow. He said that he hoped the organization can reach its target of donating 150 lambs or the equivalent of 20 cows at a price of 560 million IDR by October 1, 2014.
