19 hajj pilgrims from Indonesia pass away in Saudi Arabia

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, MAKKAH -- Until 2nd September 2015 at 09:00 GMT, 19 Indonesian pilgrims passed away in Saudi Arabia. A total of 17 pilgrims passed away in Medina and two others passed away in Makkah.

One of them, Hamdah bint Bakar (53 years old) who passed away on the way from Medina to Mecca, Tuesday (1/9) at 21:27 GMT. The pilgrim from Jakarta-Pondok Gede (JKG) 04, died of a heart attack (cardiovascular diseases).

"The pilgrim was female. She died on the way to Medina to Mecca, and not yet arrived in Mecca," said Health Liaison Mecca, Ramon Andrias, to Republika.co.id, Wednesday (2/9).

On the same day, Suherman Agus bin Agus (63) died in Saudi Arabia hospital with the same cause, namely cardiovascular diseases. The pilgrim from Padang (PDG) 05 died on 1st September 2015 at 12:10 GMT.

One day earlier, a pilgrim from SUB 06, Muhati bint Maskiran (51) died at the Indonesian Hajj Medical Center (BPHI) Medina. Muhati died of respiratory disease on 31st August 2015 at 08:45 GMT.

"Inflammation in the lungs caused heart disease," he said.
