REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Islamic Defenders Front (FPI) commemorated their 19th anniversary with congregational tahajjud prayers and dawn prayers at Kamal Muara Stadion, Penjaringan, North Jakarta, on Saturday.
The Islamic mass organization launched Indonesia's Congregational Dawn Prayers Movement to mark their anniversary.
Secretary General of Muslims Forum, Al-Khaththath, asked mass organization leaders, members of FPI, and all Muslims to have strong determination in upholding congregational dawn prayers.
He urged Muslims to bring their families, friends and neighbors to go to the mosque.
"We hope, in 2020, congregational dawn prayers in Indonesia will be perform just as Friday prayers," he said.
FPI's anniversary celebration started at 03.00 Indonesian Western Standard Time on Saturday. It was started with congregational tahajjud prayers and continued with congregational dawn prayers. FPI also prayed for the nation, staged Islamic art performance, paramilitary troops parade, and religious lecture.
