REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - "In every life we have some trouble/But when you worry, you make it double/Don't worry, be happy/Don't worry, be happy now..."
Almost all music fans in Indonesia seemed to know the lyrics, Don't Worry be Happy. The singer was Bobby McFerrin, the guest star at Java Jazz Festival (JJF) 2012. Performed his son, Taylor McFerrin, they surely tranquilize the audiences for two days in JJF.
Supposed to perform at 03.15 pm local time, Bobby did not appear until 16.25. The audiences seemed impatient as they started calling Bobby McFerrin several times. McFerrin senior finally stepped on the stage.
Born in Manhattan, New York on March 11, 1950, Bobby wrote the song which made him famous, Don't Worry be Happy, in 1988. He won "Song of the Year" and "Record of the Year" in Grammy Award. His song was the first acapella that became top chart.
Meanwhile in the next stage, “Lestari Trio” from Indonesia -Glen Fredly, Tompi, and Sandhy Sandoro- satisfied their fans. Each had special way to spoil the fans. Glen, for example, played 'Sekali Ini Saja' with solo saxophone in the middle of the show.
