REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA – About 17 American small medium enterprises (SMEs) joined in Trade Winds Asia will come to the Chamber of Commerce and Industry on Tuesday to meet 75 Indonesian entrepreneurs. The US Vice Ambassador to Indonesia, Ted Osius, said the meeting was to facilitate American SMEs to join Indonesian entrepreneurs.
Yet, they have not set any significant target for the meeting. “Some big companies are already in Indonesia. This is a good chance to introduce SMEs,” Osius said on Monday.
He added, those SME was willing to participate in the growing Indonesian economy as Indonesian market provided opportunity to boost the growth of SME. These American SMEs are from pharmaceutical, construction, information technology, plastic resin, mining tools, and plastic sectors.
The Vice Chairman of Indonesia-USA Parliament Causus-Vice Secretary Faction, Bobby Adhityo Rizaldi, said the cooperation between both sides was hoped to increase US import value to three percent. “Import is not always bad. We import the component, and then we make it in Indonesia and it is good,” Rizaldi said.
