REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA – Indonesia now has three new gas fields with the total production up to 130 million standard cubic feet per day (mmscfd) which begins the operation on the first quarter of 2012. The fields are APN E&F in Northwest Java offshore block operated by Pertamina EP, Wortel in Sampang block operated by Santos Ltd, and Tembang Subsea in B block operated by Conoco Phillips Indonesia.

“The fields are onstream in the first quarter of 2012. We hope the projects can add more gas supply for domestic users,” the spokesman of Indonesia’s Upstream Oil and Gas Executive Agency (BP Migas), Gde Pradnyana, said on Sunday.

The APN E&F and Tembang Subsea fields can each produce 50 mmscfd and 40 mmscfd of gas, while Wortel is expected to produce 40 mmscfd of gas, 500 barrels per day (bpd) of oil, and 250 bpd of condensate.

Another upstream project completed on the first quarter is the installation of oil transfer pipeline in Tampi, Merangin block two, Musi Rawas, South Sumatra. Operated by Cooperation Contract Contractors (KKS contractors) Sele Raya Merangin 2, the fields was onstream on 2010. But, the oil was transported to the nearest port by trucks.

“The completion of pipeline is expected to increase the field’s oil production from 1,300 bpd to 1,900 bpd,” Pradnyana said.

BP Migas has also established a Committee on Project Management and Production Facilities Maintenance. Contained 88 experts from BP Migas and KKS Contractors, the committee tasked to provide advices and decisions related to the control of project management and the maintenance.
