REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, TEHERAN - Indonesian Vice President Boediono said government would be actively involved in connecting Indonesia entrepreneurs with Iranians. But, Boediono assessed that Indonesian entrepreneurs were still reluctant due to US embargo to Iran.

"There is a big potency for both countries to improve the trade and investment is big, but they seem still reluctant," Vice President Boediono said on Thursday in front of Indonesian community in Teheran.

Indonesia-Iran trade cooperation is currently only in 1.8 billion USD, far below Iran's trade with Singapore, Thailand, and Malaysia. One of the problem shadow Indonesian potency is over the payment system, due to embargo over Iran.

"Government must bridge the business of both countries," he said.

Indonesian Embassy to Teheran records the bilateral trade is increasing with surplus in Indonesia. On 2011, Indonesia imports crude oil and nuts, while Iran imports palm oil, threads, textile raw materials, tire, auto parts, rubber, cocoa powder, coffee, and timber.

Boediono cited that Iran Vice President Mohammad Reza Rahimi delivered his gratitude for Indonesian attendance on the 16th Non-Aligned Summit. Rahimi, who has visited Indonesia, said that he loved Indonesia, which he called as peaceful country. On his meeting with Boediono, Rahimi hoped the bilateral relationship can increase.
