REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - A member of World Bank Group, International Financial Corporation (IFC), aims to spend more money, between 400 million USD to 600 million USD, in Indonesia. IFC Indonesia country manager Sarvesh Suri said the investment would be channeled into infrastructure sector.

"Our target is to improve our work in infrastructure and expand our financing for women entrepreneurs and farmers," Suri said on Tuesday.

From July 2011 to June 2012, IFC invested nearly 300 million USD in eight projects in Indonesia. The agency also spent 7 million USD on advisory projects.

IFC commits to improve financial access for 1.6 million people and 5,000 small and medium enterprises (SMEs). Cooperating with banking since five years ago, IFC focuses to channel credit for micro and SMEs. The loan has reached out 5.4 million SMEs.

Suri explained that IFC's future project would focus on public private partnership projects to accommodate state interest. In 2013 fiscal year, IFC will allocate 40-50 percent from the total investment of 400-600 million USD for financial sector.

Meanwhile, IFC funds for 2012 fiscal year had been distributed through Bank Tabungan Pensiunan Nasional (BTPN), Bank Hana, Bank Danamon, Bank Internasional Indonesia (BII), and Bank Handara.

IFC's investment in Bank Hana in 2012 reached 12.5 million USD to assist SMEs grow, while in BTPN reached 15 million USD.
