REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, DENPASAR - Indonesia will host the 13th Developing Countries Vaccine Manufacturers Network (DCMN) in Kuta, Bali, on October 31 to November 2, 2012. The event is also expected to establish partnership between Indonesia and developing as well as Muslim countries on research and development of new vaccines.
Bio Farma, the only one vaccine manufacturer in Indonesia, hopes that it can play an important role in researching new vaccine with other developing countries. Bio Farma’s Corporate Secretary, Farma, Rahman Rustan, said the supply and quality of vaccine produced in developing countries could be increased. Rustan explained that the currently vaccines produced by developed countries were expensive and developing countries could not afford.
This international event will involve 37 vaccine manufacturers from 14 developing countries, such as Argentina, Bangladesh, Brazil, Cuba, Egypt, India, Iran, Mexico, China, South Korea, South Africa, Thailand, Vietnam, and Indonesia.
