REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - After FIFA decided to suspend sanction for Indonesia, some parties urge government to take firm step towards Indonesian Football Association (PSSI) and Indonesian Football Rescue Committee (KPSI). Acting Minister of Youth and Sports, Agung Laksono, emphasized that he was waiting for recommendation from Asian Football Confederation (AFC) to determine the next step.
Laksono said that government would not involve deeply in the matters as the meeting of Executive Committee FIFA in Tokyo appointed AFC as the mediator. Laksono promised that he would not take side.
"The main point is that we must communicate with AFC," he said on Monday.
Ministry of Youth and Sports also refers to several articles for the next step. According to Article 13 of the Law of National Sports System (UU SKN), government has the rights to rule, develop, conduct and monitor the national sports events. Meanwhile, article 121 mentions that minister, governor and mayor can give administrative sanction to every people or sports organization that violate administration in sport events.
