REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - Indonesia will study the promising offering from Nigeria. The country offers four hectares of fields for plantation and agriculture, particularly the industry of crude palm oil (CPO).
"We will study the pros and cons of the offer. We should see the strategic values as well as the benefits for Indonesia," the Chairman of African Committee of Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mintardjo Halim, said on Friday.
He hopes Indonesia will get a well-balanced benefit from the agreement, such as lower import tax. He added that Indonesia might not use all of the fields to plant palm oil trees.
The field in Nigeria can be used to plant sugar cane and cornto provide as a logistic reserve. Today Indonesia is still importing sugar and corn from other countries.
