Turkish group to invest on geothermal energy in Indonesia

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, SURABAYA - Turkish group, PT Hintay Renewable Energy, will invest up to 2.5 billion USD on geothermal energy development in East Java, Indonesia. 

Turkish businessman, Emin Hintay, explained that they planned to build geothermal energy in Mount Bromo of East Java, Mount Lamongan of Probolinggo and Mount Raung of Banyuwangi. 

Governor of East Java, Soekarwo, claimed that he had received permission from Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, Jerok Wacik, for exploration. "Mount Bromo has a potency of 500 megawatt geothermal power," Soekarwo said on Tuesday after receiving a visit from the Turkish group.
