REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - Board of Indonesian Palm Oils estimated that the exports of crude palm oil (CPO) to reach 19 million tons in 2013. It could happen when total production of CPO reach 28 million tons, while domestic consumption at 9.2 million tons.
Chairman of Board of Indonesian Palm Oils, Derom Bangun, said that CPO domestic market absorbed 5.7 million tons went to retail sale and 3.5 million tons to meet industry needs. "Our CPO is exported mainly to India, China and the European Union," he said on Wednesday.
Realization of CPO production reached 5.2 million tons in March 2013, lower five to seven percent below target 5.5 million tons, caused by crops cycle or soil condition when it use inorganic fertilizers for too long.
Government also planned to increase CPO production by providing maintenance in replanting the old palm trees, as well as providing seed support to the farmers.
