Islamic banks target women and family customers

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - Indonesia's Islamic banking aggressively began to target new customers, especially women and family customers to improve their market. They held iB Campaign Bobo Fair in Jakarta Convention Center to promote and educate public on islamic banking.

"This program aims to increase public awareness of Islamic banking in order to boost the market," said Chairman of the Campaign Nugraha Utama Rasyid on Wednesday.

The program is a collaboration between Islamic banking and Bank Indonesia (BI).

Those five Islamic banks and four Islamic Business Unit participate in this program. Those banks are Bank Syariah Mandiri, BNI Syariah, Bank Syariah Bukopin, Bank Mega Syariah, BCA Syariah, Permata Syariah, CIMB Niaga Syariah, Danamon Syariah and Bank Sinarmas Syariah.

Rasyid targetted transaction worth three billion IDR from this event. Head of Business Division at Bank Syariah Bukopin, Farhan Kamil targets about 700 new customers during five days activities.
