REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - Indonesian football clubs will not recruit foreign players from Cameroon after Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) imposed sanction to the African country.

"I have received a letter from FIFA related to sanction to Cameroon. The letter didn't discuss about the fate of Cameroon players in Indonesia today. Secretary General of Indonesian Soccer Association (PSSI), Joko Driyono said on Tuesday.

FIFA's sanction is due to government's intervention on the elecion of the head of Cameroon Football Federation (FECAFOOT). The sanction will automatically impact on the publication of the International Transfer Certificate (ITC) as it is the main requirement needed in the process of moving a player between countries. ITC is certainly not going to be released for Cameroon players who want to play in other countries, including Indonesia.

Many Indonesian football clubs hire players from Cameroon. Some of the player are Abanda Herman from Persib Bandung, Ngon Mamoun from Gresik United and Bio Paulin from Persipura Jayapura. But Driyono said that Cameroon players who had competed in Indonesia would not included in the ban.
