REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, PALEMBANG - A Turkish investor seeks opportunity to work on geothermal in South Sumatra. CEO of Hitay Investment Holding from Turkey, Emin Hitay met with Governor of South Sumatra, Alex Nurdin.
"Our two subsidiaries, PT Hitay Tanjung Sakti Energi and PT Hitay Lawang Energi will conduct preliminary survey to determine number of existing geothermal potential in Tanjung Sakti and Lawang in Empat Lawang district," Hitay said on Thursday.
Head Department of Mining and Energy of South Sumatra Robert Heri explained, there were three geothermal working areas to be developed in South Sumatra, namely Tanjung Sakti, Lawang and Rawas. Hitay Investment Holding has secure the deal to develop two of three areas, Tanjung Sakti and Lawang. Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources has permitted the company to conduct preliminary survey.
The survey is expected to take six months to one year. Geothermal investment in the two location is estimated worth two to four trillion IDR.
