REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAMBI - Indonesian Conservation Community (Warsi) announced that Besudut (22 years), a tribal child succesfully passed a selection process of new admission students at University of Jambi. He became the first jungle boy who entered formal high education at the university.

"Yes, we are very grateful when hearing news that Besudut, one of kids we coached, passed and enrolled at University of Jambi," Public Relation Staff of Warsi, Sukmareni on Wednesday. She said she expected Besudut could also motivate other tribal children to actively pursue their dreams. 

Kubu tribe or "orang rimba" is one of minority tribes living in Sumatra, particularly in Jambi and South Sumatra province. Besudut alias Abdul Jalil succesfully changes the stigma that tribal children are backward in education. Besudut is a tribal child educated by Warsi for years. 

Besudut was eager to follow alternative education program held by Warsi despite he started entering primary school at older age compared to other kids. He could otherwise go into sixth grade and completed his primary school in just over 1.5 years. 

Besudut then succesfully passed national exam at senior high school. He managed to reach his dream to enter formal education up to university level, to realize his dream to become a teacher. Besudut enrolled at Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, majoring in Elementary Teacher Education after followed one test held at University of Jambi last June.
