REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - Six athletes of Universal Taekwondo Indonesia (UTI) won four gold medals at CK Malaysian Classic VII 2013 Taekwondo Championship in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. This competition was held on August 23-25, 2013.
Four gold medals were dedicated by Ririn Agustina from Jakarta in lightweight female class under 62 kilograms (kg), Catur Yuni Rianingsih from East Java in middleweight class (female) under 73 kg and Nuri Revani Siregar from North Sumatra in bantamweight female class under 53 kg. Another gold medal was dedicated by Muhammad Fathi Yusuf, a male taekwondoin from Aceh.
"Six athletes received fierce fights since the first round," Coach of UTI, Satria Rahadhani said recently.
Agustina won over Malaysian taekwondoin with score of 17-5, while Rianingsih won over Australian with score of 13-6. Siregar won over Srilanka. But two others taekwondoins, Ikpho Ivander Nathaniel and Supriyanto, had different story. Both were eliminated in preliminary round.
