REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - Government launched an English speaking village in a transmigration village, Karang Indah Village, in Mandastana District, South Kalimantan.

The village is located in Integrated City Mandiri of Cahaya Baru, Barito Kuala District. Its establishment will adopt concept of transmigration village in Pare, Kediri, East Java, where people can learn to speak English fluently. The English speaking village in South Kalimantan is a pilot project that will be implemented in other transmigration areas.

"English speaking village in transmigration area is conducted as a breakthrough to enhance quality of human resources and trans communities in order to be able to learn and to be proficient in English," Iskandar said recently.
