REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA-- The Indonesian senior soccer team has strong determination to defeat China's at the qualification match of the Asia Cup group C in Bung Karno main stadium on Monday night.
"Victory for the Garuda (Indonesian soccer team nickname), is a must if the national team (Timnas) wishes to head to the final round against the lowest level of the senior Timnas at the provisional standings," said Jacksen F Tiago, Indonesian team's coach.
"I am trying to prepare the best team, and all players are ready to enter teh court and do a good match. We should not look back to the previous series of performances," Tiago stated. He reffered to Indonesia's two latest matches when Garuda did not score a single point.
According to FIFA statistics, of the 12 matches played between Indonesia and China, 10 were won by China, one match was a draw and one was won by Indonesia.
Meantime, the Indonesian U-19 (under 19 years old) soccer team, Timnas, defeated the South Korean club 3-2 (1-1) at the qualification final group G of AFC Cup in the Bung Karno main stadium here on Saturday night (Oct 12).
With this victory, the Indonesian squad automatically headed to the finals match of the AFC U-19 Cup in Myanmar in 2014 after earning nine points in three matches.
