Indonesia's trade balance records surplus of 42.4 million USD

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Indonesia's trade balance in October 2013 recorded surplus of 42.4 million USD. Total export value reached 15.72 billion USD, while import value reached 15.67 billion USD.

"This is the third month that we recorded surplus this year," Head of Statistic Indonesia, Suryamin said on Monday.

Indonesia experienced the first surplus in trade balance of 2013 in March. The second is in August and the third in October. Surplus volume of trade balance recorded 44.79 million tonnes. Export volume stood at 56.88 million tonnes, while import volume stood at 12.09 million tonnes.

Oil and gas trade balance in October recorded a deficit of 749.7 million USD, while non oil goods' trade balance experienced a surplus of 792.1 million USD. Suryamin said that non oil goods' trade balance improved, but eroded by oil and gas trade balance.
