REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, NUSA DUA -- Deputy Finance Minister Bambang Brodjonegoro said policy must be created to build inclusive and sustainable economic growth that would elevate Indonesia into a high-income country.
"Strategies must be applied simultaneously to support fair and sustainable development," the deputy minister said here on Saturday.
He noted that the strategies that need to be applied included efforts to maintain economic stability, build prudent monetary fiscal policy, create appropriate incentive systems and preserve the people's purchasing power.
There should also be utilization of national human resources through the development of renewable and alternative energy. Also, there should include the processing of resources that could offer high added values and encourage the development of downstream industries.
The development of human resources is needed to boost quality educational development systems, increase the relations between the educational system and the needs of industries, training programs, innovation activities and increase the productivity of human resources, said Bambang.
Bambang added that fuel oil subsidies, which were off target, also became a constraint on the lowering of the income gap, and efficient energy subsidy schemes were needed.
"The development of infrastructure is important to reinforce domestic connectivity, improve national logistics systems and support the development and utilization of information technology to increase competitiveness," he said.
