REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- State owned Bank Negara Indonesia (BNI) recorded an increase in remittance transaction up to 14.3 percent in 2013. Company will strengthen its remittance networks both in domestic and abroad.
BNI International Division Leader, A Firman Wibowo said that amount of transferred funds from Indonesia to other countries increased from 36.75 billion USD to 44.4 billion USD. Total of remittances transactions reached 84.84 million USD, while the revenue increased 13.3 percent.
Wibowo hopes the revenue will increase this year. Company plans to strengthen its services, namely BNI Smart Remittance. This product has a strong network inside and outside the country. There are more than 60 virtual offices spread across Saudi Arabia, Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman, Bahrain, Jordan, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Brunei, Singapore, Australia and Netherlands.
BNI Smart Remittance also serves through five overseas branches, namely New York, London, Tokyo, Hong Kong and Singapore, BNI Remittance Limited in Hong Kong, as well as remittance representative's offices in migrant workers' countries.
BNI Smart Remittance serves more than 1,600 branch offices throughout BNI and Pos Indonesia offices, Alfamart, Pawn, Bank NTT, rural banks and other partners. There are more than 15 thousand outlets serving BNI Smart Remittance.
