Indonesian cement industry has promising prospect

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, PANGKEP - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono is optimistic that Indonesian cement industry has promising future. 

"Following thorough preparations that have been made, our cement industry has promising opportunity in the future," the president said on Wednesday on the opening of new factory od PT Tonasa Unit V in Pangkep, South Sulawesi. 

The head of state noted that his optimism was in line with rapid development of transportation facility and connectivity. He believes that the cement factory will meet market demands.

Meanwhile, State Enterprises Minister Dahlan Iskan stated that cement commodity produced by Indonesia was ready to face the implementation of a free market including ASEAN Economic Community in 2015. The minister added that by incorporating Semen Padang, Semen Gresik, and Semen Tonasa into PT Semen Indonesia, the company, in 2013, became the largest cement producer in Southeast Asia.
