Idris Sardi, the Indonesian violin maestro passes away

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - The Indonesian violin maestro, Idris Sardi (76 years) passed away on Monday at 7:28 AM at Meilia hospital, Cibubur, West Java, due to complex illness. 

President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono wrote in his Twitter account, "Farewell, Idris Sardi... Thank you for you devoted contribution."

Sardi was burried at Menteng Pulo cemetery, East Jakarta. He had built an amount of slam in his stomach which in turn disturb the function of lung's clefts. He also suffered from hepatic diseased.

The violinist has recorded more than 1,900 compact discs (CD). His last performance was on December 16, 2013 with tittle:  Maestro Violin Solo Concert Idris Sardi, at National Library Theater.

The eldest of eight children was born in Jakarta on June 7, 1938. He inherited musical taste from his father, Mas Sardi, and was fond of violin since he was five year old.

Some musicians sent their condolences on social media, including a young singer, Vidi Aldiano. 

"Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji'un (a verse of Quran which means to surely we belong to Allah and to Him shall we return). Good bye the maestro, Idris Sardi, such a huge loss for Indonesian music community," Aldiano said in his Twitter account.

۞ وَلَقَدْ اَخَذَ اللّٰهُ مِيْثَاقَ بَنِيْٓ اِسْرَاۤءِيْلَۚ وَبَعَثْنَا مِنْهُمُ اثْنَيْ عَشَرَ نَقِيْبًاۗ وَقَالَ اللّٰهُ اِنِّيْ مَعَكُمْ ۗ لَىِٕنْ اَقَمْتُمُ الصَّلٰوةَ وَاٰتَيْتُمُ الزَّكٰوةَ وَاٰمَنْتُمْ بِرُسُلِيْ وَعَزَّرْتُمُوْهُمْ وَاَقْرَضْتُمُ اللّٰهَ قَرْضًا حَسَنًا لَّاُكَفِّرَنَّ عَنْكُمْ سَيِّاٰتِكُمْ وَلَاُدْخِلَنَّكُمْ جَنّٰتٍ تَجْرِيْ مِنْ تَحْتِهَا الْاَنْهٰرُۚ فَمَنْ كَفَرَ بَعْدَ ذٰلِكَ مِنْكُمْ فَقَدْ ضَلَّ سَوَاۤءَ السَّبِيْلِ
Dan sungguh, Allah telah mengambil perjanjian dari Bani Israil dan Kami telah mengangkat dua belas orang pemimpin di antara mereka. Dan Allah berfirman, “Aku bersamamu.” Sungguh, jika kamu melaksanakan salat dan menunaikan zakat serta beriman kepada rasul-rasul-Ku dan kamu bantu mereka dan kamu pinjamkan kepada Allah pinjaman yang baik, pasti akan Aku hapus kesalahan-kesalahanmu, dan pasti akan Aku masukkan ke dalam surga yang mengalir di bawahnya sungai-sungai. Tetapi barangsiapa kafir di antaramu setelah itu, maka sesungguhnya dia telah tersesat dari jalan yang lurus.”
