REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Jakarta provincial government in partnership with state owned construction firm, PT Adhi Karya will start the 65-km monorail construction in Jakarta. Company's business development director, Punjung Setiabrata said that company had met with representatives of provincial government to discuss monorail construction started from Bekasi, West Java.
Bekasi becomes a starting point to overcome traffic congestion in Jakarta. There is a great movement of sub-urban especially from Bekasi and Bogor, so that the problem must be addressed in sub-urban center.
Adhi Karya proposed two stages of path's construction. The first stage is from East Bekasi to Cawang and also Cibubur-Cawang. Cawang path will be connected to Jakarta. Jakarta Commuter Line will be connected with monorail to Palmerah and Dukuh Atas. Second stage aims to open business district in Pluit from Palmerah. Adhi Karya will use existing monorail paths.
Adhi Karya and Jakarta provincial government will discuss the profit sharing after final discussion. Company targetted new contract of 15.2 trillion IDR in 2014, an increase of 40.3 percent with revenue target of 10.5 trillion IDR. Adhi Karya seeks an operating profit of 1.1 trillion IDR and net profit of 426.5 billion IDR this year.
