REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Minister of Finance Bambang Brodjonegoro appoints Vice Minister Mardiasmo as acting Director General of Tax. Mardiasmo is replacing the retiring Fuad Rahmany.

"It is not easy to be a Director General of Tax. Mardiasmo has the capacity to hold the position," Brodjonegoro said on Monday, December 1, after handover ceremony in Directorate General of Tax.

Vice Minister Mardiasmo officially becomes acting Director General of Tax starting today. Meanwhile, Ministry of Finance is selecting the name that will hold the position. Mardiasmo is the head of the committee that selects the Director General of Tax. The selection also involves Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Center (PPATK) and Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).
