REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, BOGOR -- The global economic conditions have affected the government's efforts to implement various outlined programs, President Joko Widodo stated.

"The change that occurs in each country affects the other countries such as Greece, which is facing debt problems," President Joko Widodo noted here on Friday.

The president remarked that the current condition in Greece has affected the economies of other countries, including Indonesia.

"As a result, the Indonesian rupiah and Malaysian ringgit have weakened. It is a difficult time for us," he pointed out.

The president affirmed that the global negative impact can be overcome by proper cooperation and coordination among various parties.

He emphasized that economic growth should be boosted in order to reduce unemployment and poverty.

"Economic growth is only 5.1 percent this year. Economic growth should be boosted to reduce unemployment and poverty," he emphasized.

The event was attended by Vice President Jusuf Kalla, Home Affairs Minister Tjahjo Kumolo, Environment and Forestry Minister Siti Nurbaya, Minister of Agriculture Amran Sulaiman, and Deputy Finance Minister Mardiasmo.

The president hopes that Indonesia's economic growth can exceed 7.0 percent in the next three years.

At the start of the president's briefing to the heads of sub-districts of Java and Maluku, all reporters were allowed entry into the Garuda room in Bogor Palace.

However, the reporters were later requested to leave the room as the event was closed to the media.
