REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - The head of the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), Suryamin, said that economy of Indonesia could grow better in second half of 2015. One that can be used is the government capital expenditures.

Suryamin explained, government capital expenditure in 2015 amounted to Rp 275.8 trillion. It is higher than the amount of capital expenditure in 2014, Rp 160.8 trillion.

"An addition up to Rp 110 trillion is to boost economic growth," said Suryamin, Wednesday (5/8).

He hopes that the government can accelerate the absorption of capital expenditure. The capital expenditure that has been absorbed during the first half of 2015 is just 9.74 percent.

"The capital expenditure was used to complete the construction of toll Cipali and groundbreaking several infrastructures development," said Suryamin.

Even so, Suryamin did not want to predict how much capital expenditure that can give contribution to the economic growth in the second half of 2015. "It depends on the absorption of the budget," he added.
