Lion Air serves flights from Makassar to Medina

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Lion Air Company, which is incorporated in Lion Air Group with Batik Air and Wings Air officially made its maiden flight from Sultan Hasanuddin International Airport, Makassar, South Sulawesi to Medina, Saudi Arabia.

"Flight to Medina will be first transit in Hang Nadim Airport in Batam, and it will immediately depart to Prince Mohammad Bin Abdulaziz Airport in Medina, Saudi Arabia," said PR of Lion Air, Andy M Saladin, in a press press received by Republika, Monday (28/12).

Andy continued, flight to Medina is scheduled to be available once a week with departures at 08:55 am every Monday. Lion Air from Makassar to Medina is using Airbus A330-300 aircraft, which has capacity of 440 economy class seats.

"This flight is provided especially for Muslims to lead worship in Saudi Arabia. This would facilitate Indonesian people to go to Medina without having to transit," he continued.

He added, Lion Air served flights to Medina from several major cities in Indonesia such as Jakarta, Banjarmasin, Makassar and Surabaya. 3 units of Airbus A330-300 aircraft used, had just brought in from Touluse, France.
