REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, MEDAN -- Fish and shrimp exports from North Sumatra began to pick up, rising 2.05 percent year-on-year to US$75.018 million in value in the first quarter of 2016.

"Exports of fish and shrimps are encouraging amid fall recorded in almost all other commodities," chairman of the Indonesian Association of Businessmen(Apindo)of North Sumatra, Parlindungan Purba said here on Tuesday.

Parlindungan said the opportunity is better to expand business in fishing to increase production for exports.
