REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- The government offered Indian investors to build facility to convert coal into natural gas to be used as feed stock for petrochemical products.
The offer was given on Monday to a delegation of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) visiting the industry ministry.
"We offered them project of coal gasification to produce petrochemical materials and they indicated interest," Director General of Resilience and Development of Access to International Industry Harjanto said here on Monday.
Harjanto said CII promised to pass on the offer to Indian investors to discus details with the relevant official at the industry ministry.
CII President Naushad Forbes as the head of a delegation of 15 business leaders from India met with Industry Minister Saleh Husin and senior officials of the ministry.
The two sides also discussed expansion of cooperation between the two countries in other industrial sectors.
Naushad said he believed there are many industrial sectors in which the two countries could expand cooperation.
"I am confident there are many things in which Indonesia and India could expand cooperation," he said.
