REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- New Jakarta Governor, Anies Rasyid Baswedan, is awaiting the Special Plenary Meeting of the Jakarta Regional Legislative Assembly (DPRD) ahead of implementing his programs.
According to him, he first wants to elaborate the plans for the development of Jakarta City to Jakarta DPRD, before starting to take steps to run all the programs that have been drafted.
"(Based on) the ethics of the government, we, as the new executives, have to speak in front of the Regional Legislative Assembly. We respect the people's representatives, and we want to convey our plans in front of them," Baswedan stated at City Hall, Central Jakarta, on Wednesday.
He noted that if the special plenary meeting has been held, his will then take strategic steps to realize the entire programs that he had planned.
"Now, there is an agenda that needs to be completed first, which is the special plenary meeting. After the meeting, we will just start to take action. For now, we are still waiting for the meeting," Anies remarked.
Furthermore, he explained that he had prepared strategic steps to address a number of problems, including waste handling, flooding, Jakarta Provincial Minimum Wage 2018, and reclamation projects.
Therefore, he requested the Jakarta DPRD to immediately hold a special plenary meeting, through which the entire development program plan could be realized one by one.
"It is important that we complete the DPRD first, so that we can move forward and not just for one or two days," Anies explained.
