REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Jakarta provincial government has a solid evidence not to renew business permit of Alexis hotel and Griya Pijat Alexis (massage parlor). There were reports from the citizens as well as media coverage.
"It is impossible for use to issue a policy without a strong reason," said Head of Communications at investment and One-Door Integrated Service Office of Jakarta Provincial Administration (PTSP), Reinaldi, Wednesday (Nov 1).
Based on the Governor Regulation No 47 of 2017, Reinaldi said, Jakarta provincial government may use informations from the media and citizen reports as one of the supervisory, controlling, evaluation of permit and non-permit materials.
It was also supported by the Regional Regulation No. 6 of 2015 that states the government in exercising its authority can organize, manage, and conduct supervision to prevent and cope with various negative impacts for the wider community.
"So, the purpose of issued letter was to control it all. We do not want it to be wider. From a long time ago, problems related to Alexis were keep on appearing. And, this is our stance," Reinaldi explained.
He said, Alexis has been worth of mouth in the past years. Media also have cover the news without clearly mentioned Alexis. But, the government noticed there is a news coverage that describe Alexis in detail.
Reinaldi said, the news has become a special record for PTSP and the citizens reports also support the information.
Bad image
Alexis has denied the information mentioning they were operating as a high-class brothel.
Spokesperson of PT Grand Ancol Hotel, Lina, stated management of Alexis hotel and Griya Pijat Alexis are aware of its image in the society. She admitted, Alexis's bad image is its weakness as business entity.
Lina also said, Alexis management is open to critics and suggestions. Therefore, they are ready to improve their image.
"Alexis has been identified as a bad place. So, we will clean up. We will rearrange our management to get out of the negative stigma," Lina said at Alexis hotel, North Jakarta, on Tuesday.
