REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- The student made car really makes a hit now. Buyers are queueing to purchase 5,000 cars, dubbed as Kiat Esemka car. Yet, the buyers must be waiting patiently. Mayor of Solo, Joko Widodo (known as Jokowi -ed), 500 cars will be ready this year, after the government grant a licence in February or March. About 200 to 300 units per months is the next target of production.  

"We will gradually fulfill the orders as demanded," a self proclaimed ambassador of Esemka, Jokowi said.    

Jokowi assures that Esemka maker has the capacity to fulfill the long list of orders. "We have more supply of spare parts than we need." Small and medium enterprises from various areas -including Gombong, Tegal, Purbalingga, and Jakarta- will provide spare parts for Esemka car.  n
