REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, RIYADH – Indonesia parliament delegation hold a bilateral meeting with Saudi Arabia on the last day of the third G20 Speakers’ Consultation Meeting in Saudi Arabia. The Head of Indonesian House of Representatives, Marzuki Alie, asks the Head of the Saudi Shura Council, Dr Abdullah Al-Sheikh, for Saudi Parliament’s support to protect Indonesian workers (TKI).
“We were talking about the protection for Indonesian workers,” Alie said on Sunday evening at local time, reported by Didi Purwadi from Republika in Saudi. “As Muslim fellow, they have to consider it,” he said, referring to Indonesian workers who mostly are Muslims. “But we have not ask directly to Saudi parliament to support the protection on Indonesian workers,” he added.
The delegation also met Indonesian citizen living in Riyadh. The event was enlivened with some challenging questions. Vita, for example, questioned the insensible campaign fund of political party and the shaky relations between the House and the President. There was also Agung who suggested that Indonesia should punish corruptors severely , such as amputation if necessary.
